Shaftesbury Town Council own both the Orchard and the Field. Fields in Trust Status was granted in September 2019 and both are now protected through a Deed of Dedication under the aegis of the National Playing Fields Association. This means that neither can be built on and will remain as open spaces, free for the community.

The Orchard was created in the early 1990’s and is a tale of people coming together to save and build a breathing space for us and for wildlife. The history of the Orchard is on our website.
